![]() ![]() We have been soooooo disappointed in your re-formulation the last several months. PLEASE GO BACK TO THE WAY THIS HAS BEEN FORMULATED FOR THE LAST FEW DECADES. Couldn't you have kept your foo-foo fragrances in your other products/models and LEFT ORIGINAL TIDE ALONE? We understand that many folks like to smell like a bottle of fragrance and that's why there's Axe and Gain laundry detergent and other potent options. A PERFUME SYSTEM UPGRADE? So many people have so many different allergies and so many establishments are trying to adopt fragrance-free policies. Our testing and research showed us this was a great addition. Our granddaughter helped us find this: Recently, we updated the formula for our Tide Original Powder, adding freshness technology for a nice scent during the laundry process and more scent after the clothes dry. I have never been any fan of any scents/fragrances mostly due to my asthma, but I was used to the original (old) Tide. My husband has been saying to me that he noticed and felt and smelled something different with our Tide and I told him it was his imagination. We have been using original (boxed powder) Tide detergent for over 40 years, but I'm afraid we just can't handle this new scent anymore. ![]() Who on earth convinced a corporate board this was a BETTER let alone a good idea?! We already smell like shampoo, soaps Natural fibers do better but I fear I'll have to donate and replace several hundred dollars of synthetic fabric athletic training clothes. I tried washing again with just warm water and double rimsing in both my top-load and HE machines. The smell began to overwhelm my entire 2400 Sq ft house with just a single laundry basket of clothes. Anyways, the new "improved" yet unannounced change has left me with clothes smelling so strongly I cannot wear them and have to store them in my garage. Why, why, WHY do marketing people believe successful things MUST be changed? Did sales of original tide decrease during the pandemic? Very unlikely. One of us changed for the worst and it wasn't me. I can't recall when I began using tide laundry detergent. and i hope when i’m out of this terrible-smelling one in a year, we can have the original “original” scent back! otherwise, i’ll be on board with others in declaring i’ll be switching to another brand. I sure won’t be in a hurry to stock up on tide powder anytime soon. I really, REALLY hope there will be enough complaints to bring the previous formula back.Īlso (this is a slightly older problem), the box no longer has an overhanging lip to keep the lid closed, which is a BIG problem with using the detergent when there are curious pets around. i honestly might have to transfer this detergent powder to some kind of sealed bucket to keep the overpowering scent from permeating through literally everything. i miss the smell of “home” i’ve come to associate with the old “original” formula. I grew up with the original tide powder detergent and came back to using it after we bought our first house. ![]() at least with the old formula it smelled fresh and nice… awful! i can’t imagine all this scent wafting around isn’t harmful to breathe in. ran a load, and was completely overwhelmed by the new scent!! i ran extra baking soda in the wash to try to get some of the scent out and it’s kinda fine, but after a week, the entire hallway my laundry room is in smells like this new scent, and my clean towels linens that share my laundry detergent cabinet are now completely saturated with the smell too. Tide Oxi contains sodium percarbonate, an oxygen bleach, and nonanoyloxy benzene sulfonate, a bleach activator.Opened up my new box of tide laundry powder. For instance, Tide Free & Gentle does not use fragrance. In addition to the original Tide laundry detergent, P&G offers several variations, such as Tide Plus Bleach Alternative, Tide Pods, Tide Free & Gentle and Tide Oxi. Sodium hydroxide neutralizes the pH level during the process. ![]() Citric acid, borax and DTPA capture soil. Sodium formate, calcium formate, polyethylene glycol 4000 and dimethicone also enhance washing. Tide ingredients that help the washing process work better include water, propylene glycol, ethanolamine, ethanol and diethylene glycol. Tide also contains disodium diaminostilbene disulfonate to brighten fabric and Liquitint Blue to add color to the detergent. In Tide, these enzymes are protease, amylase and mannanase. Enzymes in detergents help proteins, starches and fats from foods to decompose. The polymers polyethyleneimine ethoxylate and diquaternium ethoxysulfate work cooperatively with surfactants. ![]()
